Been away for awhile

I’ve been away for a little while. But I’ve thinking about this blog every day. I’ve been dealing with some health issues myself. Getting older is an enlightening process. I learn something everyday it seems about my body and health. What to eat or not eat, digestive systems, prediabetics, etc. As I research some of these areas, I’m sure I will post information on this blog in the hopes that the information will help someone take care of his/her health. That means you might have to make a trip to the physican, please don’t try to self diagnose yourself. I tell my husband that all the time. Neither one of us has a medical degree.

Health Information for Women of Color. It is well documented that people of color in this country do not necessarily receive adequate health care. My goal is to get more health care information to women of color in the hopes that they will be able to make informed decisions about there health care needs. I will search as many resources as possible and share the information with you. Please read this information. It could save your life. Please become involved in your own health care, don’t leave taking care your body to someone else. Take care of your body. That is what this information is about, giving you the power to take charge of your body. Ask questions if you don’t understand what the doctor or health care professional is telling you. As a member of the baby boomer generation, I challenge you to find out about the side effects of the drugs you are taking and then weigh the pros and cons of the drug. Investigate natural healing. Originally drugs in this country were plant base natural products. So investigate them. There are lots of books and website that deal with drugs made from natural products, instead of chemical based products. Think about it, if our bodies are from the earth, then wouldn’t it seem likely that putting chemicals into our body would have some side effect. I am not a medical professional, so the information that I post here is truly for information purposes only. Knowledge is power. I learn something new everyday! Enjoy and I hope the information I post can help someone along the way. JAM
